The best usage of my free time that I can think of is spending it out in the wilderness. That's one of the nice things about living in Colorado: there's a lot of it close enough that I can spend a casual weekend doing what many people can only do on carefully-planned vacations.

More photos	In September 1994 we did a pack trip with Britt's parents in the Weminuche Wilderness, which is near their ranch in Bayfield. Here's a slightly out-of-focus picture of me pretending to be a horsewoman (35862 bytes). I've backpacked in the Grand Canyon twice, both times at Thanksgiving. Horseshoe Mesa (31229 bytes) "Lunch Ledge" along the Tonto Trail (53301 bytes) There are two more Grand Canyon photos on my rafting page . In June and July 1993, we drove to Alaska! What a wonderful trip. On the way, we stopped in Kluane National Park, in the Yukon Territory of Canada, and climbed Mt. Decoeli (41070 bytes). (This photo was taken by putting the camera on a rock and setting the timer.)
