1) Nifty diagonal waterfall, 2) hiking past wildflowers (past peak, alas), 3) the view back down to the valley we started from.
4), 5), 6) Wildlife! We saw at least eight, maybe ten marmots in the Island Lake basin.
7), 8), 9) More wildlife! A cute little ermine weaseled its way through the talus around us. We'd never seen one before.
10) The water of Island Lake was oddly mineral, maybe from the old mining activity, and had strange things growing in it. 11), 12) But that made it a very pretty color!
13) Above Island Lake we saw a fox but didn't get a good picture. 14) It started to rain as we headed back toward Ice Lake and the path back down..
