1/23/00 | Outahere!

It's oh-dark-thirty, and we'll be lifting anchor in about half an hour to start our trip across the Gulf Stream. Yesterday we motored back down the ICW yet again (through all those bridges, yet again!) to just short of Fort Lauderdale. We're following the advice given in the Explorer Chartbook to do a daylight crossing, followed by a night sail across the Bahama Bank and a checkin the next morning at Chub Cay. Most people leave Florida at night and aim to hit Bimini or Cat Cay in the early morning.

Don't know when we'll manage to upload a log again, but I'll keep writing them, and put them out here when we get a chance. Cheers to all you poor folks freezing up north.
